Nigerian youths have been called upon to shun drugs and all vices that will affect their productivity in the development of their future and the country at large.
The National President of the Boys Brigade of Nigeria, Professor Samson Duna, made the call at the investiture ceremony of a national patron of the association in Kaduna.
Professor Duna said that a productive youth is an asset to society, hence the need for relevant stakeholders to continue to invest in improving the youth for national development.
“We must continue training and restraining the young ones to improve their capacity and develop their capabilities to ensure they become better citizens
“The youths must also be deliberate in learning a trade and engage positively in things that will better their lives and their immediate environment,” he said.
Earlier, the newly appointed National Patron of the Association, Architect Nuhu Yahaya Dikko explained that his vision is to engage the youth positively.
Nuhu Yahaya Dikko assured the leadership of the boys brigade of his commitment through his non-governmental organisation to provide the needed training in different areas of specialisation for them to be self-reliant.
The National Patron called on parents to show love to their children, so they can be better citizens in the society.
He said the investiture upon him is a call to duty to serve the church and humanity by rendering selfless services.
