Troops of 6 Brigade Garrison, Nigerian Army, have rescued some kidnapped victims around CBN-Babaya-U in Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State.
In a statement issued by Lieutenant Ayodeji Abiodun, the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the accomplishment was attained in the early hours of Sunday, November 26, 2023.
The troops, acting on credible intelligence, carried out a rescue operation in the state metropolis targeting terrorists’ hideouts and operating areas.
The swift response of the troops and conduct of raid operation on the terrorist’s hideout led to the capture of Mr. Awwal Bobo, 32 and Mr. Sallau Abdul, 33 as well as extrication and safe rescued of the victims named Mrs.
According to the statement, one of the rescued Victims have since been reunited with his family, while the other is currently been offered necessary medical attention and support to ensure her physical and emotional well-being before been handed over to her family.
Meanwhile, the Commander, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army Jalingo, Brigadier General Frank Etim has commended the timely response of the troops.
He charged the troops not to relent in ensuring peace and safety of the citizens and urged the residents to continue to cooperate and support the security agencies by providing timely security information to enhance troops’ prompt response to security issues.
