Sapele Council Boss has pledged his administration’s readiness to partner with professional bodies in driving ethical leadership, capacity building and sustainable development across the Council area.
Chairman of Sapele Local Government Council, Hon. Bright Abeke made the commitment when he received the newly elected leadership of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Chartered, Sapele Chapter, who paid him a courtesy visit at his executive chambers.
Welcoming the delegation, the Council boss commended the Institute for its consistent efforts in promoting professional and ethical standards across all sectors. He described the visit as a timely step towards building strategic alliances that can enhance governance and improve service delivery at the grassroots level.
“The Council shares in your vision for professionalism and ethical governance,” Abeke said. “As an administration, we are open to partnerships that strengthen institutional capacity and equip leaders with the tools to serve effectively. You have my assurance of full cooperation as we work together towards these shared objectives.”
He expressed optimism that collaboration between the Council and the Institute would bring positive outcomes for the people of Sapele, especially in developing leaders and institutions that uphold integrity and efficiency.
Earlier, the Chairman of NIM (Chartered), Sapele Chapter, Mr. Leonard Ahueke, had thanked the Council Chairman for the warm reception, describing it as an encouraging sign of mutual commitment to community development.
Ahueke outlined the threefold objective of the visit: to introduce the newly constituted leadership and members of the chapter, to explore opportunities for collaboration with the local government, and to present membership application forms for consideration by interested council officials and stakeholders.
He underscored the institute’s dedication to fostering leadership excellence, professionalism, and ethical conduct, noting that these values are critical in repositioning public and private institutions for growth.
“The Nigerian Institute of Management is committed to supporting leaders and institutions within Sapele and its environs through capacity building, management training, and organizational development programmes,” Ahueke stated.
The meeting concluded with renewed assurances of collaboration from both parties, setting the stage for a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing professional standards and governance in the local government area.
