The Staff of Office was officially presented on behalf of the Delta State Government by the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, who represented the Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori at the ceremony.
Speaking to the press shortly after the event, Chief Obiodeh described the occasion as a moment of renewal for the people of Igbide, expressing confidence that the new monarch’s reign would bring peace, unity, and grassroots development to the kingdom.
“His Majesty’s remarkable background in banking and security consultancy, including his contributions to peace-building efforts in Nigeria’s North-East, demonstrates the depth of his leadership experience. I am confident that he will steer Igbide into a new era of transformation,” the Commissioner said.
He further applauded the Oborevwori-led administration for its commitment to addressing environmental and infrastructural challenges across the state, particularly in communities affected by perennial flooding and erosion.
“The government is actively working to provide long-term, sustainable interventions that will mitigate the effects of seasonal flooding and restore lost livelihoods in vulnerable areas like Igbide. These issues remain a top priority,” he assured.
Chief Obiodeh also called on community leaders, youth groups, women, and all residents of Igbide Kingdom to throw their full weight behind the new monarch for the sake of collective progress.
“No leader succeeds alone. The cooperation of the entire community is key to achieving shared goals. I urge everyone to support His Majesty as he begins this noble journey of service,” he stated.
