The Delta State Ministry of Information, in a warm and heartfelt ceremony, bade farewell to the 2024/2025 Batch B Stream 2 corps members who successfully completed their national service in the ministry on Thursday.
In his remarks, the Hon. Commissioner for Works, Rural Roads and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu appreciated God on their behalf for the preservation during their one-year service.
Represented by the Functioning Permanent Secretary, Mr. Harold Ojji, Aniagwu applauded the corps members for their active involvement and contributions during their one-year of national service in the ministry.
He emphasized the importance of building on the experience gained during their service year, urging them to utilize the skills acquired in developing a livelihood for themselves and not rely solely on white-collar jobs.
Also speaking at the event, the Director of Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Veronica Mwanze offered motherly counsel to the outgoing corps members. She advised them to remain disciplined, shun evil and be focused as they journey into the next phase of life. “Do not be swayed by trends or peer pressure to get involved in “Get Quick Rich Schemes. “
The ceremony was marked with laughter, reflection, and appreciation, as members of staff took turns to commend the corps members for their professionalism and contributions to the ministry’s work. Certificates of appreciation and parting gifts were presented to the corps members as tokens of gratitude.
The vote of thanks was given by one of the outgoing corps members, Emma Okoye PraiseGod, who expressed deep appreciation on behalf of his colleagues for the warm reception, mentorship, and opportunities provided during their service year. He pledged that the lessons learned during their time in the ministry would not be forgotten.
