The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election, Nicholas Ukachukwu, said categorically that what Anambra needs at this point in time is a secure and industrialised environment and not monuments for wastage of resources.
Ukachukwu stated this during the inauguration of the APC governorship campaign council at the party secretariat in Awka, on Tuesday, while describing some of the structures built by the current government, such as the Fun City, as “monumental wastes”.
The APC governorship hopeful said agricultural chain revolution, power plant to propel industrial cluster, among others, are what the state needs now to boost its economy and not educational certificates or speaking of grammar and molesting opposition parties and their candidates in the state.
He said, “I have an agric chain revolution programme for Anambra. I am not here to discuss people. In Anambra, it is either you are manufacturing, trading or farming. We will put security in check. We will put up a power plant to serve the people and propel an industrial cluster.
“At the moment, our hospitals in the state are glorified mortuaries. I am worth billions and can’t owe billions as talkatives are wagging their tongues. Academic certificates do not make people what they think they are.
“We can’t discuss them because they are not worthy of our discussion. They are discussing us because we are worthy of their discussion, but when the chips are down, we shall know who is who.”
He expressed optimism that APC would win the upcoming November 8 governorship election because “President Bola Tinubu has charged us to get Abambra for APC”.
