The Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Major General Felix Mudjakpero (Rtd), Orhue 1, has expressed strong support for small and medium-scale businesses in Delta State.
He expressed this support when he received a delegation from the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), Delta State Chapter, at his palace in Orerokpe.
Speaking during the visit, the Orodje stressed the importance of consistency and sustainability in business, he warned that when a business owner dies or a business collapses, it can affect other businesses connected to it, leading to further losses,the monarch therefore encouraged business owners to remain focused, committed, and consistent in their ventures.
The monarch also advised the association not to turn NASME into a “family business.” He emphasized the need for inclusiveness, fairness, and equal opportunities for all members.
The delegation was led by the State Chairman of NASME, Lady Judith Ojevwe Nwachukwu, She thanked the Orodje for receiving them and for his fatherly advice and support.
Lady Nwachukwu explained that the purpose of their visit to his Royal Majesty is to seek his Royal blessings and support for the activities of the organization.
She stated that NASME is committed to promoting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria. She said the association helps members gain access to credit facilities, provides useful business information, and creates awareness about the important role of MSMEs in national development.
She added that NASME also organizes trade missions abroad to help members expand their businesses.
Nwachukwu assured the monarch that NASME would continue to work hard to promote and strengthen businesses in Delta State.
Other members who joined the delegation included Mr. Charles Agidotan assistant coordinator, Okpe chapter, Patience Onota, Juliana Atori, among other members.
The visit ended with special prayers by the Orodje for the chairman and members of the association, asking for God’s guidance and success in their activities.
