
Santa Fe’s District Attorney, Mary Carmack-Altwies says actor, Alec Baldwin will be charged with involuntary manslaughter over the shooting of cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins.
Halyna Hutchins was killed on a film set after the Actor fired a prop gun which also injured the director, Joel Souza.
The incident happened in October 2021 when Baldwin was rehearsing a scene for the Western film “Rust” at a ranch near Sante Fe, New Mexico.
In a statement, the Santa Fe District Attorney also announced that the movie’s armourer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will also be included in the suit to be filed at the end of the month.
“On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice,” she said, adding the accused will face up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 fine if convicted.
The BBC however reports that the Lawyers for the accused persons said they would fight the charges.
