The Borno state Police Command says it has secured 314 convictions out of over 600 cases recorded between January and December this year.
The Command has also arrested 503 suspects and prosecuted 372 suspects for committing various offences.
The State Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar unveiled the figures during a media parley at the Command headquarters in Maiduguri, where he highlighted some of the achievements of the police.
Mr Umar said out of that number, 102 were cases of rape, 200 cases of terrorism, 30 cases of kidnapping, 28 cases of drug abuse, and 12 cases of political violence.

“Seven cases, involving 12 suspects from APC and two suspects from PDP, for inciting disturbance, threatening persons with violence during political campaign, unlawful possession of weapons at political rally, inciting others in a disorderly manner, causing hurt and mischief,” CP Umar ennumerated.
He added that within the year under review, the Command also recovered a “significant number of weapons”, including 12 locally-made guns, three AK47 rifles, four rocket-propelled Grenades and cache of ammunition.
He called on people of the state, particularly political actors, to, at all times, “conduct their activities according to the rules” as the Police “will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute any person who violates such rules”.
