The Governments of Zamfara and Taraba States have reduced the number of Ministries in their domain as part of measures to promote efficiency, block leakages and enhance proper administration of government organisations.
The Governor of Zamfara State Dauda Lawal on Thursday signed an executive order reducing the number of Ministries from 26 to 18.
In a statement the Director General of Media and Communication office of the Governor, Malam Nuhu Anka said the move will reduce the cost of governance and improve quality of service delivery.
Malam Anka also revealed that other agencies and parastatals would be streamlined in coming days.
Similarly, in Taraba State, the Governor Agbu Kefas has reduced the number of Ministries from 25 to 21.

The Secretary to the State Government Gebon Kataps in a statement on Friday said the idea was geared towards promoting effective administration in line with current global realities.
He said the move would also enhance resource utilization, foster sustainable and improve the well-being of the people of Taraba State.
