
The Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Council, Delta State, Hon. Christian Onogba has said that cleanliness is a necessary part of healthy living for every normal person, stating that his administration would do everything necessary to ensure that EthiopeWest remains clean and healthy for its residents.
Onogba made the remarks during the inauguration ceremony of the Ethiope West Local Government special task force on environment at the NULGE hall in the Council secretariat, Oghara.
The Chairman, who said the reason for the task force was to ensure Ethiope West is kept clean, noted that Ethiope West Local Government is so dirty as all corners of the area have been turned to refuse dump sites.
While charging the newly inaugurated task force to ensure Ethiope West Local Government is kept clean at all times, Onogba stated that he has great passion for a clean environment.
Onogba urged the Ethiope West environmental task force to do their job within the jurisdiction of the law, never to deviate from the law.
While saying that anyone found contravening the rules of cleanliness would face the penalty for defaulting, Onogba noted that the process would also serve as a means of generating revenue in the Council.
While thanking the Council Chairman for counting them worthy of the office, the Chairman of the task force, Mr. Smart Oyokominor promised to work in accordance with the law and to ensure Ethiope West is clean at all times.
Thirty-eight persons were inaugurated into the taskforce, with Mr. Smart Oyokominor as its Chairman.
