Leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta Statehave paid a condolence visit to Ogbueshi Ejiofor Onyia, following the passing of his elder brother, Engr. Ndozi Onyia, who died on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
The delegation, led by the LGA party Chairman, Ogbueshi Chike Ifesiokwu, included ward chairmen and party stakeholders.
Speaking during the visit, Ogbueshi Ifesiokwu said thatthe late Engr. Onyia was a dedicated party stalwart who made significant contributions to the party’s success over the years.
“The late Engr. Ndozi Onyia was a motivator and an inspiration to many of us in the party,” he said. “His unwavering commitment and selfless service ensured PDP’s growth and victories during his active years in politics. We will always remember his sacrifices.”
The Party Chairman further urged Ogbueshi Onyia to keep the party informed about the burial arrangements, emphasizing the need for unity and support among party members. “Now, more than ever, we must stand together and show care for one another, especially in times of need,” he added.

In a similar development, Chief Edwin Uzor, the leader of PDP in Oshimili South LGA, also led a high-powered delegation to condole with the Onyia family. Accompanying him were several party stalwarts, including Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, Ogbueshi Chibuzor Uwaje, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, Ogbueshi Taju Isichei, Ogbueshi Smart Meka, Hon. Olisa Onyeka, Hon. Izuka Okolo, Hon. Eloka Aziekwu, and Sir Tobechukwu Okonkwo, among others.
Addressing the bereaved, Chief Uzor acknowledged the late Engr. Onyia’s contributions to the party’s electoral victories, stating that his legacy of dedication and service would not be forgotten. “He was a true party man, a strategist, and a pillar of support. His absence leaves a void that will be difficult to fill,” he noted.
He assured the family that PDP leaders would play an active role in ensuring that Engr. Onyia is given a befitting burial. “As a party, we owe him that much and even more,” he said.
In response, Ogbueshi Onyia expressed deep appreciation for the outpouring of support from PDP leaders, stating that their visits meant a lot to him and his family. He assured the party that burial arrangements would be communicated accordingly.
“I am grateful for this show of solidarity,” he remarked. “My brother dedicated much of his life to this party, and it is heartwarming to see that his efforts have not been forgotten.”
He further suggested the need for a post-burial meeting among party leaders to discuss the way forward for PDP in the LGA.
