
As part of efforts to build a stronger political force and deepen grass root mobilization in Warri, party faithfuls have been enjoined to come together in unity and work for the success of the ruling party.
The leader of the Warri Urhobo of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olorogun Bernard Okumagba made the call yesterday during an expanded meeting that brought together over 300 party faithfuls at a landmark political gathering in Warri.
The meeting, which was hailed by attendees as “a turning point for party unity,” welcomed both longstanding APC members and recent defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), marking a fresh chapter of cooperation within the Warri Urhobo political bloc.
“Our strength lies in unity,” declared Olorogun Okumagba as he opened the meeting adding that “today, we are not old or new members. We are one APC family, and together we will build a stronger political force in Warri South and beyond.”
Following robust deliberations and strategic discussions, the meeting produced several key resolutions chief among them was the unanimous decision that old and new members must work in harmony across all Urhobo Wards in Warri South Local Government Area.
The gathering also passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, lauding his efforts to reposition Nigeria’s economy and governance systems.
“President Tinubu has shown bold leadership. His policies may be tough, but they are necessary steps to restore national prosperity,” said one party leader during the meeting.
Also, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori received commendation for his ongoing infrastructural strides across Delta State as the gathering recognized his inclusive governance style and commitment to development, transcending party lines.
In the same vein, the Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, was praised for his effective representation in the National Assembly, while the Delta State House of Assembly Member representing Warri South Constituency 2, Hon. Benson Obire was applauded for his performance at the House.
In a statement emphasizing fairness and equity, the meeting called on leaders at all levels to ensure that developmental projects and government benefits are evenly distributed among the four major ethnic groups in Delta South—Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri, and Urhobo.
The event attracted high-profile APC leaders and stakeholders including: Chief Benson Obire, Chief Isreal Abido, Chief Western Adehor, Chief Birinus Ojogri, Rev. David Utofia, Chief (Mrs) Ann Iniovosa, Chief Peter Agiri, Chief Coach Obire, Chief Mark Ikpuri, Chief Goddy Onotor, Chief Stephen Dolor, Hon. Gabriel Okandeji, Hon. Emma Okandeji, Hon. Ese Azakaza, Mr. Davies Akhigbe, Chief Fred Dolor, Chief Onoriode Okoh, Hon. Festus Igherebo, Gabriel Omorere, Benji Eboh and many others who echoed Okumagba’s message of reconciliation and forward momentum.
As the meeting concluded, participants left with renewed confidence in the party’s prospects and in the leadership of Olorogun Okumagba, whose efforts continue to shape the political landscape of Warri and Delta South.
