The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Isaac Agbateyiniro, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, presented the 2026 fiscal year budget proposal to the Warri South Legislative Arm, at the Council Secretariat in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Chairman, unveiling the financial plan, described it as strategic, people-centered, and forward-looking. The budget, totalling ₦17,008,874,566.84, is tagged “Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.”
In his presentation, Hon. Agbateyiniro announced that the 2026 budget reflects a 30.1 percent reduction from the previous year. He emphasized that this decrease was a deliberate move toward financial discipline, improved efficiency, and a renewed commitment to prioritizing projects that deliver the highest impact to the people of Warri South.
He noted that the recurrent expenditure for the year is set at ₦8,490,555,994.54, while capital expenditure stands at ₦8,518,318,572.30. According to him, the figures demonstrate a careful balance between sustaining the daily administrative needs of the council and pushing forward critical capital projects that will drive socio-economic growth.
Hon. Agbateyiniro reaffirmed that the 2026 budget is designed to build on the remarkable progress recorded under his MORE GRACE Agenda. He stressed that the agenda has continued to bring visible, all-round development to Warri South—from infrastructure upgrades and agricultural expansion to improved environmental services and empowerment initiatives.
He assured residents that his administration remains unwavering in its mission to deliver transformational governance. “This budget is a testament to our resolve to do more for our people,” he stated, urging the Legislative Arm to give the proposal swift and favourable consideration to ensure seamless implementation.
The Chairman concluded with a renewed pledge to deepen development, strengthen public trust, and uphold the hopes of Warri South citizens in the year ahead.
