The Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyeisi Nkenchor, has urged civil servants to remain responsible, dedicated and committed to their official duties.
Dr. Nkenchor gave the charge during a familiarisation visit to the Office of the Wife of the Deputy Governor, the Contractors Registration Board and the State Tenders Board in Asaba.
He commended staff of the Office of the Wife of the Deputy Governor for their dedication, professionalism and commitment to service delivery.
The Permanent Secretary encouraged workers to remain focused and avoid taking their current positions for granted.
He said diligence, discipline and consistent hard work remain the foundation for career growth in the civil service.
According to him, commitment to duty attracts recognition, recommendations and promotion when opportunities arise.
Dr. Nkenchor also stressed the importance of Knowledge, Skills and Ability (KSA) in building an efficient and productive workforce.
He explained that every organisation depends on competent personnel to achieve sustainable growth and quality service delivery.
The Permanent Secretary urged workers to take advantage of training and retraining programmes to improve their competence.
He noted that continuous learning equips employees with the skills required for greater responsibilities and prepares them for future leadership opportunities.
Dr. Nkenchor assured the staff of management’s commitment to creating an enabling environment that promotes productivity and professional development.
